in the process of looking for places to do a photoshoot, we came across http://www.allencrestlocations.com . we should have guessed that there would be an organized network of amazing living spaces that could be rented out to fufill your creative needs. We were looking for something with a bit of Royal Tennenbaums feel to it and
In case you didn't know, we're launching the site with well over 250 original prints for you to choose from. This one comes to us from the "Philadelphia Social Club" which is a print source home grown in Philadelphia, PA run by fashion industry survivor who takes her inspiration from the City of Brotherly Love itself and secondly, from vintage prints. I can promise that you're going to have a tough time deciding which bag and print you want to buy first -- every single one of them is different, beautiful and unique.
I know you were all thinking, gosh, these bags are really great, but
wouldn't it be even better if I had an adorable little bag to go inside that I could pull out for drinks after work? Well, it's finally here, the clutch (official name t.b.d.), made in a retro inspired print by designer Amy Holdsworth (the print comes in many other colors too!). As you can see, it's perfect for all the going out essentials: glasses, credit card, keys, lipstick, and room to spare. I'm in L-O-V-E with this style, it's a MUST-HAVE!
My boyfriend has been approaching random stylish looking women all over NYC in an effort to spread the word about Freddy&Ma. At first they assume he's trying to pick them up, but once they see my name on the business card he hands them, they understand that his efforts are sincere (I'll bet some of them are bummed that he wasn't about to ask them out). Today he called me to tell me that he had approached a woman in a diner who had an enormous, beautiful bag with her and started to give her my card, to which she proceeded to pull out a pen -- with both of them a little confused and her lunch friend more than amused, Paul explained that he was not asking for her autograph --- turns out it was Edie Falco, of Soprano's fame (he had not recognized her). My business card is resting inside her wallet right now -- thanx to my incredibly thoughtful beau. Does anyone have her publicist's number?
What can I say? We like big bags. This is the first version of a straightforward tote style that we're working on. It's so roomy and the straps are very comfortable, even over a thick coat! It folds down flat, making it a great "just in case I buy some extra goodies while on vacation" bag, as well as an everyday, everything-but-the-kitchen-sink tote. You'll also be able to customize the panels. Stay tuned, we've got another adorable style in the works.......
When launching a new hot handbag company, it never hurts to be friends with a new hot model. Lucky for me, I knew Kelly before she realized her knockout potential, when we were both slaving away in designer retail hell. She came over for a long overdue visit and we ended up having a full on impromtu photoshoot. You can check out all of the results in our Photo Album. Isn't she just fabulous? She really looks that way, barely a trace of gloss and she's gorgeous even in this hideous lighting --- one thing's for sure --- you're all going to L-O-V-E these bags!!!
well, almost exactly one year since freddy scribbled in his notebook the idea that would eventually become freddy&ma, our 'real' website is up and running. our crack web design team has created a beautiful splash page that gives you a sneak peak at what is going to launch next month.
check out www.freddyandma.com and be sure to sign up for email updates! there will be a nice little surprise for all who do!!!!!
the more astute members of our readership may have noticed the radical changes to the decor in our online journal. as many of you know, the original brand identity work for freddy&ma was nothing more than a placeholder as we worked on with our web developers on creating a final brand image. as much as everyone loved the chocolate brown and robins egg blue, it became apparent after exploration that a web identity full of dark colors is somewhat limiting. we hope you like our new design language & logo, we assure you that it will make a lot more sense once you see the final website :-) for a sneak peak at the teaser that is launching on freddyandma.com soon, click here.
