I love LA

Maps_la_melrose_1Freddy & Ma are scoping out Los Angeles this weekend, hoping to findMaps_la_southrobertson_1 someSign_2 homes for Freddy & Ma.  The culture here is  completely opposite of NYC, and we're really enjoying ourselves.  While everyone in NYC seems angry and rushed, everyone here seems happy and relaxed.  We'll be hitting up all major shopping districts today and tomorrow, so we will report back.  Wish us luck!

make way for f&m

021306_56The buzz in the aftermath of fashion week has been about accessories, mainly bags, and how important they are becoming to the various fashion brands.  What's great about Freddy & Ma are the price-points of our bags relative to the other current fashion brands and also the versatility in terms of the bags themselves, their functionality and YOUR ability to create exactly what you want.  Thought you might enjoy this article from WWD.

photoshoot - part 1

Cimg0490_1Yesterday we had our first of two photoshoots for freddy&ma.  This one focused on taking pure product shots for use on the website and in some of the print media we are creating.   Jessica, our photographer, did an amazing job and despite the AVA trickery that has to be employed to properly position some of the bags, all the shots came out great.   With these product shots finished, we have the final collateral needed to finalize development on www.freddyandma.com .  Our crack team of web designers recently gave us a preview of the configurator that will allow you to build you own bag.  Our only reaction was 'wow'.   March is definitely going to come in like a lion this year!

life is good

00100m00650mI really didn't think it was possible to trump last season's Bryant Park experience, but lo and behold, I found myself at the Marc Jacobs show last evening at the Armory on Lexington for his Fall 2006 Ready to Wear Collection.  I won't tell you how I got there, but I had the most incredible seat and oh, what a scene it was!  From my  vantage point, I saw the likes of Naomi, Dita Von Teese, Nicole Richie, and the Vogue Crew, Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington, and Andre Leon Talley.  The lights must be bright in the front row because neither Anna nor Andre removed their 00110msunglasses for the duration of the show.  The clothing was interesting, although, the models didn't 00690mappear to be very thin, which I know they are, so that was more than a little alarming.....great bags and shoes.....great cast of models.......hardley any repeats there and so many big names, Daria, Sasha, Karen Elson, Liya K, Trish Goff, and so on.  Oh, what a night!.

progress!

We thought it might be nice to recap 3 of our styles for you, the Pict0029_2_1
Cape Fear Bowler, the Gypsy Lane Hobo and the Palo Alto Pouch
We're launching with about 200 other prints that you HAVEN'T  seen yet, as well as our Metro Clutch (pictured), our Hazel Purse, and our Gracie Tote.  It's almost March, and we're almost ready -- hope you are too!
