chocolate and cherries, anyone?

15_copy_1 ok, well, we're calling it "crimson" but it is just slightly deeper than cherry....we've added 2 new leather colors to kick off the fall season and to make the possible bag combinations jump from around "a million" to "way over a million"........these new leather colors are RICH and really do conjure up images of yummy deserts, but better than that, they really compliment our new prints and will go far towards helping you create a bag that is EXACTLY what you want.......

my guiltiest pleasure

90210aI have very little time to watch TV, sleep, or basically chill-out.....I have tons of things recorded on my DVR, but the only thing I really make time for on weekends or the occasional sleepless night are 90210 reruns from Soapnet.  It's hard for me to explain why this is so enjoyable, probably because it's one of the most mindless activities I know of......

freddy&ma custom trunk shows

Csom_at_freddymathe last two weeks have been very busy at Freddy&Ma.  We have been quite a few custom trunk shows lately and are very excited that this portion of our business continues to buiild.  For the uninitiated, F&M trunk shows involve clients coming to our showroom in NYC and designing bags.  We set up lots of computers and also have tons of sample bags.......

f&m in fab sugar!

we received a nice little writeup in fabsugar this week ;-)

californication

CalifornicationAfter 10 days in NYC rushing around to meetings and hosting trunk shows, it was nice to finally head back to sunny California.  As an added bonus, i had tickets to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers last nite at Oakland Arena.  I can think of few activities that embody the spirt of California more than seeing them live.  It was a great show that even culminated in an encore performance of 'under the bridge'.  If they happen to be coming to your city this summer, you should check them out!

giddy up

Horse Fall has arrived at www.freddyandma.com with two new leathers, chocolate and crimson, and many new prints from your favorite designers.  You've seen how hot the equestrian trim is this year so of course we have our own version by Kim Gledhill in navy, plum, evergreen and cocoa......it's a gorgeous print that is PERFECT for fall.

let them eat cake

Img01_3   I've had a mild obsession with Sofia Coppola since I was a teenager and my cousin told me that I looked like her (which I don't by the way; I saw her on Elizabeth Street one day and I don't think anyone would ever make the comparison).  I have obsessively watched her 2 movies; The Virgin Suicides & Lost in Translation and I'm anxiously awaiting the debut of Marie Antoinette which I'm predicting to be the most stylish movie of the year with a few Oscar nods, most assuredly in the costume, makeup and art direction categories.  If you're a fan, you'll really appreciate this amazing behind the scenes look at the September Vogue cover shoot by Annie Leibovitz.

raised eyebrows

EyebrowOver fruit and bagels this morning, an employee of Freddy&Ma (hint: not Freddy) was waxing on and on about how quickly her eyebrows were growing in.  It seems that after years of careful maintenance, the time had arrived for a new look.  It turns out that this fashion forward thinker at the helm of Freddy&Ma has her eyebrows growing in the right direction, as indicated by this NYTimes article.  Not a trend surfaces that is not already embraced by the trend setting staff here at Freddy&Ma.

freddy quote makes front page news....

Typepadpic_1a quote from an interview with typepad seems to have made the front page of their site.  right next to a blurb about one of my favorite author/thinkers!

this and that

Dsc02631 freddy & ma have been insanely busy and we wanted to apologize for neglecting the blog.....aside from all of our normal duties, there has been a new addition to the family, rocco, who has been taking up a lot of time.......he's so cute though, we didn't think you'd mind too much!
