trunk shows - check them out

Did you know that Freddy&Ma hosts trunk shows at various stores and private residences all over the country???  Our shows are a great way to see our bags in person and flip through our fabric books and leather swatches to design your F&M custom handbag.  The map below highlights a few of our upcoming shows as well as contact information for getting a show in your area.

tropical outside, arctic inside

Picture_9 We've all experienced the joys/perils of central air-conditioning....sweltering temps outside and chilly sweater like whether inside......I love this combo of paper bag waist skirt, (try this budget friendly skirt too) printed tank and cozy sweater keeping the look office appropriate......and an f&m pouch by Jae Kim.

our love/hate relationship with photoshop

I did not discover this one, came across it while reading another favorite blog but just in case you haven't seen this, it might brighten your day or make your angry, not sure which.....

freddy&ma get up early

Picture_22 everything changes at the last minute in NYC........case in point, we were all excited to see our bag on The Early Show tomorrow, but it actually ran yesterday!  Ma watches the early show every morning while she trashes her apartment looking for her summer shoes which are stashed in all kinds of hiding places.  Thanx again Lucky!  That's our white bowler with blue stripe and tennis print right next to Julie Chen.

skulls & stripes

Picture_21_2 Something about these combinations is fun, sporty and yet not too "ahoy mate" for my taste.....just goes to show you how versatile a crazy print bag (hint, hint) like this hobo in a print of ma's own design, can be with your existing wardrobe.  For custom design advice email us here.

F&M trunk shows, now in LA

So as many New Yorkers know, Freddy&Ma often does both in home trunk shows for customers as well as individual appointments for people interested in designing bags.  We have now extended that capacity to the Los Angeles area with the addition of Tricia Schmidt to our team here at F&M.

Tricia is a rock star - super chic, extremely witty and she has a GREAT personal aesthetic.  Oh, and she is a textile designer to boot. If you live in the LA area and would like to host a trunk show or setup a personal design appointment, contact Trica at tricia@freddyandma.com .

And if you live somewhere else, but would still like to host an F&M trunk show in your home or office, contact info@freddyandma.com.  If enough people are going to show up, we don't mind hitting the road with our trunk full of fabrics, leathers and sample bags :-)

best day ever

100_0696 Bright and early at 8 am this morning our fantastic team dragged themselves out of bed, yours truly going on 4 hours of sleep, to shoot our fall campaign with the lovely Crystal Truehart.......while we can't really share the photos with you yet (& ruin the surprise) we can tell you that it was one of the most rewarding and successful shoots to date -- and we all had a blast........Crystal was a trooper and was completely amazing all day long and was game for anything including walking around in a tiny pair of panties and some green thigh high stockings that I fashioned at the last second......the results were breathtaking thanks to the art direction/photography of JohnPaul and Jane and my styling collaboration with F&M designer Amy Holdsworth.......days like this make it all worthwhile......even Marie, our faithful intern brought us snacks and kept us organized before running off to work at Anthropologie......also contributing to our project was the fantastically talented Sarah, our makeup artist......a huge thank you to everyone

i "hart" ny

Picture_76 The far east village is one of the few parts of manhattan that hasn't yet been completely turned into a strip mall.......the restaurants, stores and lounges are small and uniquely low key......on the way to a friend's birthday gathering we stopped for an amazing Italian dinner with excellent sangria and sat a few feet away from the handsome josh hartnett, who i like to remember fondly as trip fontaine in the virgin suicides.....i don't think anyone (other than moi) noticed or cared.......reason number 574 that I love New York.

kinda always knew i'd end up your ex-girlfriend

Picture_75The word "friend" has so many interpretations.......like when that business trip to Seattle happens to put you in the same neighborhood as the guy you once believed to be "THE guy" and because you're "friends" you can meet up for cocktails, looking sexy, sophisticated and successful..........let us help you with our Tessa Envelope in a groovy print by OhJoy! Studio.......cheers
