did you catch us on Gossip Girl?!?

As you may or may not know, Ma is HUGE fan of the OC .....yeah, we know, it's a corny show....the creator of the OC has a new show out, Gossip Girl, which is based right here in NYC, more specifically the UES (that's UpperEastSide).  Last night I arrived home a few minutes after the start of the show at 9pm and asked my fiance if it was recording (I told him last week NEVER to stop recording this show even if the most important basketball/football/hockey game is playing) and turns out he had STOPPED the recording at which point I threw a fit and the show came back on......and about 2 minutes later I was ecstatic to see one of the main characters, Jenny Humphrey, holding our Jiovanna!!!  My brattiness was justified and P thought it was so great that our bag was on the show that he has now agreed to watch it with me.  You can watch the full episode HERE.

now do you believe us?

came across a recent quote in WWD from Giorgio Armani, that pleased us immensely...."I see a future increasingly driven by personalization and customization, not just in the way clothes and accessories are designed and produced to individual customer specifications, but also in the way the customer is served. Handheld technology and the Internet will play a significant part in this development, through which customers will receive very personalized information from their own dedicated sales associate remotely, with visual proposals provided through the season in a nonintrusive way. Service at the place of work or home will become more a part of client expectations. And this overall evolution will be seen across the spectrum from fast fashion on up." maybe they'll be quoting us soon :  )

cross country and back in a day and half

We had to take care of some urgent business in San Diego which meant a delayed red eye from JFK to SFO to meet Freddy on Monday night, a few hours of sleep followed by a 3 hour flight in Freddy's plane, an hour long meeting, another 3 hour flight, some salad in Palo Alto and another red eye back to JFK, straight back to work at F&M on Wednesday morning.....mission accomplished.  Since it's quite a bit chillier in the air than on the ground in a little plane, I had to borrow Freddy's leather jacket which looked quite Amelia Earhartesque when paired with my scarf (security blanket) and trusty Ray-Bans.  Check out the pic of the Hollywood sign as we cruised over LA.

we wanted to tell you about this earlier...

...but we've been so insanely busy!! thanx to one of our "connections" we wound up at the ghita show during fashion week.....you might not know that ghita is a new line by Alexis Phifer, stylist and fiance of Kayne West.....who was showing his support in the front row, not far from yours truly in the 3rd row (see video).....we happen to be big fans of KW here in the F&M office, some of his stuff is a great 3pm pickup (along with a quick game of fetch with Rocco)

Love this outfit!

Theres something about this outfit: flowy white top, highwaisted black jeans, black patent peep toe wedges, and this adorable, versatile, classic Freddy&Ma pouch with black leather accents and chandelier print, that makes me want to wear it every single day.  Remember how cartoon characters had closets with the same outfit on all the hangers? I want a closet like that, filled with this outfit for every day of the week.

Meet my new friend Inmod!

Here at Freddy&Ma we already eat and breathe prints. Now we can sleep prints too! At Inmod.com you can customize gorgeous silk duvet covers with lots of print and color options to choose from. The best part, though, is the configurator on their website, which allows you to see your new bedcovers in their natural habitat! I think I had more more trouble choosing the stain on the wood floor than I did choosing the bedspread.

Lucky us!

Check us out in The Lucky Fall Bag Guide. They've really covered all their bases, including, but not limited to: oversized clutches, structured hobos, and soft bowlers. Freddy&Ma has a style to satisfy all these cravings, but it was our succulent purple leather bowler that made the cut this year. You can get one of your very own right here (Lucky you!) And, of course, you can customize it. Swap out the plum for a bright red that will really pop against your winter coat, or change the accent color to black to match your favorite fall blazer, or change the hardware, or, well you get the idea. Hop to it!Luckysmall

a Virgin no more....

Virgin When you fly as much as Freddy does, you become pretty immune to the terrible customer experience that is flying on airlines.  Yesterday, however, Freddy was pleasantly surprised by the awesomeness that is Virgin America airlines.  From a very slick check in process to ordering food from seatback screens and VERY comfortable leather seats, the flight and overall experience was amazing.  Think of the airline as JetBlue meets the Apple Store.  They designed every detail of the overall experience, from the safety cards to the soap in the bathroom and the sum total was an amazing experience.  We recommend flying Virgin America on any trip you take between the coasts in the next few months.  You will not be disappointed.

what you should do this weekend

59916_aa_2Jenwest Jen2 We always like to support our friends, and this weekend in NYC and LA, there's a fantastic movie opening starring f&m fan Jennifer Westfeldt (here she is in Deauville with our bag!), produced by our friend Ilana Levine, called Ira & Abby.  In NYC, it will be playing at the Sunshine Theatre on Houston St, between 1st/2nd avenue and in LA it will be playing at the Sunset Laemmle......the distribution of this film will depend on the attendance this weekend, so please, go out and support a great movie.....it also co-stars Jason Alexander (George on Seinfeld) and Judith Light (Angela on Who's the Boss) there really are so few these days, you know between Date Movie 7 and Superbad, it's refreshing to see a film that actually has a great story....check out the trailer here.........let us know what you think!

my cupcakes are better than yours....

100_1171_2if you spent an hour with freddy&ma, you would find out rather quickly that freddy is a health nut....he claims that he only craves fresh fruit and rarely allows white sugar or flour or dairy to enter his pristine digestive tract.......ma on the other hand would prefer to exist on red wine, cheese, bread and chocolate for the rest of her days but holds back (a little) for fear of not being able to fit into her favorite skinny jeans.......she loves cupcakes above all (well actually they're in 3rd place below her homemade chocolate fudge and dove milk chocolate bars) especially ones from the famed Magnolia Bakery in NYC......after a month of promising homemade cupcakes to her fiance, she finally made good on her promise this past saturday, carefully following THE recipe for her favorite cupcakes and lo and behold, they were FANTASTIC.....they would hire ma at Magnolia on the spot.....her fiance thinks they were better than Magnolia's but unfortunately they didn't last long enough to get a second opinion......if you make an appointment for a group of 4 or more at our showroom, ma will whip up a batch for you.
