happy halloween

we like halloween.......correction....LOVE halloween.......the whole "game" of freddy&ma when we were kids involved a lot of costumes and we're still not over it.  matter of fact, we kind of think that there should be a costume party every weekend.....going out in regular clothes is just too boring.  so hope you're having fun out there cause you can bet we are (minus the candy, we actually ARE too old for that.....and freddy has moral issues with processed sugar)Halloween_copy_3

Custom melamine plates - by Freddy&Ma

We are pleased to announce, that after months of effort, our custom melamine plates are now available for sale.  More info to follow later, but for now head over to freddyandma.com and start designing.

These plates are made out of durable melamine and are dishwasher safe but need to be kept out of the microwave.  They are a BARGAIN at $12.00 each so we suggest ordering yourself 2 or 12.

Can someone please explain......

why it's 75 degrees in the middle of October? Or why it only seems to rain when the Weather Channel doesn't predict precipitation? With weather this unpredictable how is a girl supposed to get dressed in the morning? We suggest layers - lots and lots of layers. Pack an extra tissue thin T and umbrella in your roomy F&M bowler, swing a trench coat over your arm or wrap around you (who knows where the temp may fall), and ladies, the world is your oyster.

Born in the USA

We heard that our vote tote might make it into Nylon's America issue......but imagine our delight when we found out who was on the cover!  Our FAVORITE girl (and fan) Sienna Miller with her sister Savannah!  We are so pleased with all the good press our Vote Tote has received so far. After all, it does manage to be environmentally AND politically conscious at the same time.....Mr. Gore would be so proud! I wonder if he's in the market for a stylish new tote...

Prime Candidate

If this tote bag was up for most politically and environmentally conscious bag of the year, I'd vote for it.  Until then, here at F&M we're getting ready for the 2008 elections. Do your part by toting one of our Vote Totes around town and showing your support for your favorite politician (as long as he or she is a Democrat).

How did that little green envelope get over there?

Design*Sponge is just about my favorite thing to read online. About four times a day I get warm and fuzzy and tingly all over just looking at the photos. But today, something even better happened. I'm sitting here, just like I am now, reading about Chris Bettig (who I love by the way), and what do my little eyes spy on the side of the screen but an ad for Freddy&Ma. What?!?! I know! So exciting! I can hardly believe my eyes but there it is, a little envelope in a green nature-inspired print by Sara Jensen.  I've always wondered how those little things get over there.  Well I guess I'm still not sure. But anyway, thanks Grace!

deep thoughts from gawker

during my designated trashy-blog-reading-time today i read this most hilarious post on gawker which summed up my long-standing thoughts on girls with short hair.

Bored of hair? Well, good news in the fake hair trend department, courtesy of New York mag.  "Who's cutting off their shags and manes? Right now, lots of people."  Lots of people besides models and actresses? Well, no. People are not actually dumb enough to believe a pixie cut is going to look cute on anyone but the youngest and most bone-structurally blessed among us. Seriously, even the most stereotypical of lesbians are beginning to be like "Um actually that is a really unflattering look for most people." [NYM]
