it's no secret that we're slightly obsessed with Blueprint magazine, here at f&m.........but imagine my delight and surprise when I received my new Sept/Oct issue to see one of my own personal ideas executed on the cover!!! About 6 months ago I redecorated my apartment, and one of the projects that I was most proud of was taking a bunch of frames that I was no longer using, painting them all white and mounting them in a collage format on one of my walls......I liked it so much that I was considering doing the same thing in our showroom.....next time i have a creative DIY project, I'll post to the blog a.s.a.p. for all of our loyal readers.....really fun and really satisfying project I must tell you.

Here at Freddy&Ma we try to keep up on the goings-on of our fellow bloggers. And of course, we have our favorites. We don't like to kiss and tell, but have you guys heard about Faye & Greer? Mother...daughter...weddings...whats not to love? So its nice to know that Faye & Greer return the sentiment.

we've been enjoying a nice little surge in press this last week including this great little story in LosAngeles magazine  about feather motifs (a personal favorite) cropping up in all sorts of beautiful products.....check out this beautiful Aleta in a peacock feather print by Heather Palmeri (the mag cited Heather as the textile designer!).  Get yours here it's perfect for the upcoming holiday party season.

I'm in design heaven!

Even if you didn't catch Top Design you have to check out the Top Design website!  You can use their awesome configurator to design your dream kitchen, living room, or bedroom.  Then save it to the Bravo gallery, and other people will vote on your design! I already have four votes for the beauty below. It's the closest I could get to an actual representation of my own living room...with the crucial addition of a woodgrain chair and chandelier.

Fall (in love with) Prints!

I know its still summer but this rainy weather sure gets me in the mood for highwaisted skinny jeans, vintage leather boots, and a Freddy&Ma hobo in any of these sumptuous fall prints. I just wish I had a campfire to attend.

Ikats Cradle

Have you heard about Ikat? Check out this inspiration board from our trusty intern, Sarah. We think this is going to be a huge trend for spring 08...ok, i know that seems like lightyears away, but don't say we didn't warn you! So read up on your ikat. Try to make one...all you gotta do is arrange the warp strings into bundles, dye, and weave! If anyone succeeds in this venture (or fails to comic effect) please please send us photos!

Finally! Edible Lipstick!

Have you ever wanted to eat your lipstick...tube and all? Now you can! Check out PlantLove Botanical Lipstick by Cargo, available at Sephora.  The tube is made entirely of corn, while the lipstick is infused with flowers and natural oils.  Why is it called PlantLove you ask? Well the outer carton is made out of flower paper which contains actual flower seeds. All you'se gottsa do is moisten and plant! Seriously! How cool is that? And if PlantLove hasn't made you feel warm and fuzzy all over already, Cargo is donating two dollars from every sale to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  So, do something good for the environment and for children, and get some lipstick and flowers in return.  Truly a win-win situation.

The Hills!

I couldn't come up with a witty title for this post because I am just way too excited that The Hills is coming back on the air. That's right, guys. This Monday, August 13th at 9:58pm I will be waiting with bated breath to find out what happened with Heidi and Spencer and the rest of those crazy kids. And you know what the best part is! The Hills loves Freddy&Ma almost as much as we love the Hills! Check out this spread from Life & Style!
